Stopwalking on Eggshells: Taking your life back when someone you love has Borderline Personality Disorder

By: Paul Mason, MS and Randi Kreger

The Second Edition of this wonderfully insightful and helpful book is required reading for anyone who is living or interacting with a loved one with Borderline Personality Disorder. This is the book that I recommend the most to clients when it is apparent that they are dealing with somone suffering from BPD. This read offers numerous accounts of cases with individuals with BPD and documents how the disorder presents itself. Whether you have a child, spouse, parent or friend with BPD this information will be very beneficial in helping you understand what occurs in the mind of someone with BPD. The book helps you identify if someone you know has BPD by documenting examples of each of the 9 symptoms that make up the diagnostic criteriain the DSM 5 for this personality disorder. The authors also provide direct instructions on how to interact with those with BPD, and they how important it is to create firm and consistent boundaries with these individuals to help protect yourself from further trauma and drama, which is often the consequence of interacting with those with BPD. This book will become a lifeboat for those that are stuck dealing with loved ones that exhibit BPD symptoms and characteristics.
